Dear Friends,
In my travels I have seen some unbelievable atrocities: individuals, families, children living without roofs over their heads, without clean running water, without FOOD! And dying from diseases that are treatable. I have racked my brain for solutions (and have come up with some pretty hair-brained ideas that admittedly have no basis for success) so I realized I don't personally have the genius needed to solve world hunger or poverty. BUT, someone else does or will. I need that person to be as moved as I have been. Sometimes you need to see it, experience it first hand, to be motivated. There is much work to be done...
So that is my hope. I want individuals to witness these crises first hand in hopes that someone will be inspired to a solution. And the fact that one is giving of him or herself for a week or a month in the here and now, well, that is a really nice byproduct.
